04 — The ladder
From here on it stops being sensible.
Four stations, each a step harder than the last. All of it runs in your browser while you read this. No video, no image, no third-party library.
If your device gets warm, that is not a bug, that is the point. Which is why this lives here and not on the homepage. All of it is built on WebGL2, which about 91 in 100 visitors in Germany can run. The other nine get a calm surface instead of an empty space. That is what fallbacks are for.
Field
Move your pointer into it — the field draws in around it. Without a pointer the dip wanders on its own.
Not a single line is drawn. There is only a function over the surface; wherever it crosses a whole number, a pixel lights up. How thick that line turns out is told by its derivative — which is why it stays equally thin at any slope.

Exactly one strut exists. Space is folded, so it stands everywhere at once. At Apple this would be an image sequence of hundreds of photos and several megabytes.

That was the ceiling. Most clients never need it — but there is a difference between someone not building it because they choose not to, and because they cannot.
